CloudFlare

This guide is intended to show how to create the various DNS records that can be configured to authenticate and white-label your mail processing through SocketLabs.

Log-in to the account your domain is registered under at https://www.cloudflare.com/login.

Click Websites in the navigation bar.

Click the gear next to the domain you wish to whitelabel, and from the drop-down menu, select DNS Settings.

CNAME Records For Engagement Tracking and Custom Bounce Domain

  • Under Your DNS Zone File, select CNAME in the Type field.
  • In the Name field, enter the host name of your choice.
  • In the Value field, enter tracking.socketlabs.com
  • Click Add to publish your CNAME record.

CNAME Records For Custom DKIM Signing

Only publish this record if you plan on using the Custom DKIM signing option, rather than Advanced DKIM. If you wish to use the Advanced DKIM Signing option instead, see instructions below.

  • In the next row, select CNAME in the Type field.
  • In the Name field, enter dkim._domainkey
  • In the Value field, enter dkim._domainkey.email-od.com
  • Click Add to publish your CNAME record.

Advanced DKIM

It is recommended that you use the DKIM Generation Wizard and use the private and public key pair generated.

  • In the next blank row, select TXT in the Type field.
  • In the Name field, enter yourselector._domainkey
  • In the Value field, enter k=rsa; p=yourpublickey
  • Click Add to publish your public key for DKIM signing.

SPF

  • In the next blank row, select TXT in the Type field.
  • In the Name field, enter @
  • In the Value field, enter v=spf1 include:email-od.com ~all

Important: If Your Domain Already Publishes an SPF Record
If your domain already publishes an SPF record, you will just need to add the include:email-od.com to it. For example, if your record looks similar to:
example.com TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all"
Then adding include:email-od.com to it will look as such:
example.com TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:email-od.com ~all"

  • Click Add to publish your SPF record.
