Dreamhost

This guide is intended to show how to create the various DNS records that can be configured to authenticate and white-label your mail processing through SocketLabs.

Log-in to your Dreamhost account at https://panel.dreamhost.com/.

Scroll down to the Domains tab and click Manage Domains.

Click DNS under the domain you are configuring.

CNAME Records For Engagement Tracking and Custom Bounce Domain

  • Scroll down to the section Add a custom DNS record to yourdomain.com.
  • Under Name, enter your desired host name.
  • Change the Type to CNAME.
  • Under Value, enter tracking.socketlabs.com
  • Click Add Record Now to publish your CNAME record.

CNAME Records For Custom DKIM

Only publish this record if you plan on using the Custom DKIM signing option, rather than Advanced DKIM. If you wish to use the Advanced DKIM Signing option instead, see instructions below.

  • In the section Add a custom DNS record to yourdomain.com, enter dkim._domainkey in the Name field.
  • Change the Type to CNAME. Under Value, enter dkim._domainkey.email-od.com
  • Click Add Record Now to publish your CNAME record.

Advanced DKIM

It is recommended that you use our DKIM Generation Wizard and use the private and public key pair generated.

  • In the section Add a custom DNS record to yourdomain.com, enter yourselector._domainkey in the Name field.
  • Change the Type to TXT.
  • In the Value field enter k=rsa; p=yourpublickey
  • Click Add Record Now to publish your public key for DKIM.

SPF

  • In the section Add a custom DNS record to yourdomain.com, leave the Name field blank.
  • Change the Type to TXT.
  • In the Value field enter v=spf1 include:email-od.com ~all

Important: If Your Domain Already Publishes an SPF Record
If your domain already publishes an SPF record, you will just need to add the include:email-od.com to it. For example, if your record looks similar to:
example.com TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all"
Then adding include:email-od.com to it will look as such:
example.com TXT "v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:email-od.com ~all"

  •  Click Add Record Now to publish your SPF record.
