# Changing the Account Owner
**Please Note**
In accordance with security policies, our Support team cannot make these changes on your behalf.
1. Log into the [Control Panel](https://cp.socketlabs.com/) as the account owner.
- If the email address associated with the owner of the account no longer exists, you will need to contact your email administrator and recreate the email address. You can then process a password reset and the username and password reset link will be emailed to that address..
2. Access the [Preferences](https://cp.socketlabs.com/preferences) and [Security](https://cp.socketlabs.com/security) configuration pages from the the dropdown menu under the user's name in the top right corner.
3. Change the information as desired and save the updated configuration.
